Curated Photostream - Slide Film | July 16 2018 | Marc Nagainis

I love the smell of slide film in the summer!  The warm chemical bath in the kitchen sink.  Unrolling the fragile film in the dark.  Spooling it on to the reel, having it catch half the time and thus taking twice as long to spool.  The first developer... The colour developer, multiple washes... and finally the Blix.  The colour of Blix has to be one of my favourite deep rich colours.  Finally, rinsing and hanging the slide film to dry.  Slowly spinning the dryer in front of a window so you can see the final product drift past... and then scanning to fully view the image.  Glorious.  I love the richness and saturation of slide film. I've shot a lot of different E-6 in my photographic journey, Ektachrome, Provia, Velvia 50 and 100 and my favourite, Astia.  This past month I requested you submit your favourite slide images.

SUBMIT

Every week the FSC features an article with a Curated Photostream that is open to all.  You may only submit one (1) photo and it *must* be a jpeg file and no larger than 20 MB. Please title the file "Title_Camera_Film_YourName.jpg" so that we may properly credit you if your photo is selected. Remember to check our Submit page to see all currently open photostreams.

My next curation will be August 13.  The dog days of summer.  Show me how you manage to relax and kick back at this time of year, wherever you are.  Do your worst, show me your best. Submit your image here.

July 23 will be curated by Lucy Wainwright and the theme is "Motion." MOVE ME. You may submit your image here.
