BEST OF 2017 - PART I - BLACK AND WHITE
As this is my last curated stream of 2017, I wanted to do something rather grand. I asked people to submit their three best shots of this almost-past year. From those amazing works, I decided to put together two rather basic "Best Of" streams -- one b&w, one colour.
Personally, the bulk of my work is b&w portraiture. And I have always been drawn to the spare and the abstract, insofar as what work generally lures me in. One of the many gifts that curating these streams has given me is the expansion of what attracts my eye. I have a new appreciation for styles and themes that I previously would not have sought out. I now love a busy street scene. And detailed landscapes. And any other number of subjects that would have never caught my eye as a photographer.
So I thank each and every one of you for helping me to grow as both a shooter and a viewer. I hope that you all have a joyous and peaceful end to 2017, and that 2018 brings more beauty and serenity to us all.
Thank you.
SUBMIT
Every week the FSC features an article with a Curated Photostream that is open to all. You may only submit one (1) photo and it *must* be a jpeg file and no larger than 20 MB. Please title the file "Title_Camera_Film_YourName.jpg" so that we may properly credit you if your photo is selected.
Please note that we will be changing how we announce and handle submissions in a few weeks. Essentially, each curator will announce the theme for their next curation rather than the next week. We will be adding a Submissions Page to the site so that readers can see all the information and links to submit in one place.
My next curation will be January 15 and there will be no theme. You may submit your image here..
Next week's Photostream will be curated by Marc Nagainis and the theme is "Darkroom Work." You may submit your image here.
