CURATED PHOTOSTREAM | NOVEMBER 20, 2017 | RUBY BERRY

First of all, I would like to thank everyone who submitted this week. There were so many amazing images. I also would like to once again remind everyone that we do get quite a few submissions, so please do not get discouraged if your image is not selected. I often end up not choosing some of my favorites, so please keep submitting.

This week, I have been thinking a lot about the tendency we seem to have as humans to make simple things complex and complex things simple. In real life, this can lead us to or away from conflict. In photography, this can result in a new way of seeing old things. Whether it is breaking down an ornate structure into its various elements, or focusing on the one single tree that gives the forest its feel.

I hope you all enjoy this selection of simple/complex images. And that this week brings you both inspiration and serenity. My next curation will be December 18 and there will be no theme. I encourage you to submit your favorite shots from 2017 and for this stream, I will be allowing people to submit up to three images.

SUBMIT

Every week the FSC features an article with a Curated Photostream that is open to all.  You may only submit one (1) photo and it *must* be a jpeg file and no larger than 20 MB. Please title the file "Title_Camera_Film_YourName.jpg" so that we may properly credit you if your photo is selected.

Please note that we will be changing how we announce and handle submissions in a few weeks.  Essentially, each curator will announce the theme for their next curation rather than the next week.  We will be adding a Submissions Page to the site so that readers can see all the information and links to submit in one place.

My next curation will be December 18 and there will be no theme. I encourage you to submit your favorite shots from 2017 and for this stream, I will be allowing people to submit up to three images. You  may submit those images here.

Next week's Photostream will be curated by Marc Nagainis and the theme is Desert Island emulsions. Your one and only film, if you had to shoot it for the rest of your life. It can be colour, ew-6, B&W, instant... but you have to pick one. You may submit your image here.
