CURATED PHOTOS - MEH | MARC NAGAINIS | February 11TH 2019.

Meh. I’ll say it again… MEH. It’s the middle of winter where I live. I haven’t seen the sun in weeks. It’s snowed, it’s rained, it’s snowed again then more rain, followed by ice pellets. It’s -20C right now. Everything is frozen, hard as concrete and bears a thick layer of ice. Yay…

I was looking for your representation of my mid-winter blues. I thank you all for submitting. Let’s get right to it.

Oh Anda, could I possible ask for more MEH… The muted colour palette, the dirty snow. The cityscape that could be anywhere and nowhere at the same time. Devoid of people or life at all. I Love it.

I’d sit on this frost covered bench and gaze at my navel for HOURS. The emptiness speaks to me. While the processing is lovely and the contrast impressive, it still invokes a sense of flatness. Well played.

I love this image for its global lack of effort. From the artists indifference to add a title to the blurriness of the image and dirt artefacts on the negative. The lack of contrast and tilted horizon line, the suggestion of entitlement and lack of compassion. Even the halo fits the image. Nice!

This is honestly a great shot. Love the perspective and composition. The flatness of the processing conveys this weeks theme. Nice.

Penny Felts | Winter through my window

I could only wish my winter contained that much colour. You pay extra for that Penny? Slip a little bonus to the gods of winter? I chose this image because of everything it takes away and still remains interesting.

This representation of the passage of time along with manifesting ghosts on a bleak landscape breathes Meh. The image is interesting without being arresting. It makes me stop and think, but then I lose my train of thought and move on.
