German native, Swiss by marriage, living in Basel, Switzerland.
I received my first camera in 1985 for my 8th birthday – a very cool, very green Canon Snappy S that is still in my collection. About 10 years later, my dad handed down his Canon AV-1 and Nikon F2 to me and I was hooked. And with the purchase of a 45-year-old (but working) Agfa Isola II for €3,50 at a flea market in 2010, my interest in analog photography revived and took a new direction.
Nowadays I'm trying to test all vintage analog cameras in my ever-growing collection, curious to find out which camera and format I enjoy most for different situations and subjects. Never getting too deep into the technical side of things but always enjoying the unpredictability and magic of the results.
