CURATED PHOTOSTREAM | August 12, 2021 | ABIGAIL CRONE
This month’s theme was ‘fragility’. Life is beautiful, and fleeting, the best moments and people will only be with us for so long. There is a certain fragility in all beautiful things, because they can’t last. We must stop and appreciate the beautiful and the fleeting while still with us, and what better way to do that than through photography. Sousa’s photo ‘Hazel’ is a stunning example of fragility, a perfect moment of childhood innocence reflecting back from her hazel eyes. Das-Hassan’s photo is a different but important perspective on fragility, the fragility that comes with age, and the sadness that seems to read on the man’s face. There is beauty here too, the beauty of a life lived. Thank you all for your wonderful submissions for this month, and I look forward to seeing your work again next month.
