Curated Photos | February 15 | Marc Nagainis
Off camera flash and film is a mysterious mix of maths and luck, timing, common sense and trial and error that result in a glorious mix of light and shadow. I love a well lit photo, especially old 40's Hollywood style portraits, with their strong blacks and wonderful shadows. Those are the type of portraits I want to produce. For me, flash portraiture is a special blend of alchemy that I occasionally get right, but most times I just blow up the room :) I'll be the first to admit that for me, it just doesn't "click" like some other facets of film photography. I'm not there yet, but I'm going to keep trying. Here is a selection of images from this weeks theme Off Camera Flash.
Michael Behlen will curate next week, and he has chosen the theme "After Dark". Interpret it as you will :) You may submit your "After Dark" shots here.
